The second local standout from the universities to get drafted also ended up in a less-than-preferable spot. Philadelphia doesn't have all the same flaws as New Orleans but their fanbase more than makes up for the difference.

The good thing is that with Jalen Hurts solidly in position as the starter, Payton can keep working on his craft without being a significant factor for them on the field and then maybe get a chance to play elsewhere in future years. Or perhaps he'll remain healthy and in the shadows, collecting life-changing salary like Easton has for these years.

The third option is that his athleticism forces the coaches to use him in some Taysom Hill ways, even as his representation team efforts to fight-off that label.

That's all distant stuff, for now he is the answer to the QBU drafting trivia (with Nathan Hayes likely already thinking about his chance a year from now)

Now let's take a look back at some of his best moments

Selection Grade: C

Organizationally it's a good place for Payton to get started but with everything ahead of him it's a stretch to go much beyond a middle grade.
