After going shot-for-shot with the Rebels for the first quarter of play, the Cougars seamlessly, and without much warning, flipped their switch to the tune of a 19 point lead. It wasn't just that they were feeding their clear advantage in the post, they were also getting stop after stop on defense. Once D/G/F managed to end their scoring drought they were able to cut the deficit to 13 but Ada went to the locker room up 15.

D/G/F found a way to tighten the score up even more in the second half, but yet again the Cougars went into their bag to pull-away by 20 and more before they switched to a highly deliberate offense - lots of passing, not much shooting. It was a display of sportsmanship that kind of became the theme of the evening.

In the first-half, Ada-Borup's star, Mason Miller, became the all-time leading scorer in the program's history. Which got a well-deserved standing-ovation but in an opponent's gym, sometimes that wouldn't be the case. Then I was told that the Cougar players helped pick up trash in the stands after the game. Class and sportsmanship on display. The score is one-thing but those choices stand out more to me than any basket or stat, but here are those.

Final Score

Ada/Borup 84, D/G/F 56

The Rebels were led by Jacob Strand with 17 and Drew Coalwell added 9 in their last home basketball game of the season. Miller finished with 32 and Preston Gwin scored 17 for the Cougars.
